There are a couple of steps you can take to ensure that your StepWatch™ monitor records data correctly.
1. Make sure you are starting a fresh recording when you wish to reuse the StepWatch™ after taking a reading. The StepWatch™ will go to 'sleep' and not continue recording steps after you read it, unless you explicitly start a new recording session. The "Start Recording Activity..." option is found under the Monitor menu.
2. Ensure the StepWatch™ has been worn correctly. It is important that the StepWatch™ is worn on the inside or outside of the ankle. Be sure the StepWatch™ is oriented proper side up by observing the direction of the arrow on the label on the back of the device. It will not record data when it is upside-down.
3. Check for flashes when taking the first steps after reprogramming the StepWatch™. These flashes indicate that the StepWatch™ is properly recording steps.
